We're excited to announce a significant update to our View feature in the Polar Signals Cloud. Based on customer feedback, we've reimagined the query experience to make it more accessible and user-friendly. You can now create a view with predefined label names!
Why the Change?
Customers sometimes found the previous free-form query experience too complex, especially for team members who aren't profiling experts. Organizations expressed a desire for a more structured, guided approach to filtering profiling data. This update addresses those needs head-on.
What's New?
Predefined Label Names: Instead of a blank query field, you can now select from a list of predefined label names relevant to your organization's infrastructure.
Dropdown-Based Filtering: Each label name comes with a dropdown of available values, making it easy to narrow down your view without remembering specific syntax or values.
Visual Query Building: As you select label names and values, you'll see your query take shape in a clear, visual format.
Profile Type Enforcement: Optionally enforce a specific profile type for your view, ensuring consistency in the data you're analyzing.

Maintaining Flexibility While we've simplified the default experience, power users can still access the full query capabilities:
- Toggle "Disable explorative querying" off to access the advanced query mode
- Use the "Pre-filter for label values" field for more complex queries when needed
Getting Started
- Navigate to the Views selector in your Polar Signals dashboard.
- Click "New View" or edit an existing view.
- Start adding your preferred predefined label names (e.g., container, pod, executable, namespace).
- Optionally set a profile type to enforce for the view.
- If you have added predefined label names, disable explorative querying.
- Save your view and enjoy a streamlined profiling experience!
